Anyone can paddle this boat! The large cockpit makes getting in or out of this very stable recreational kayak a breeze, even from a dock or boat deck. Take along your kid, your dog, your camera, the groceries, oh – and don´t forget the fishing rod. It´s stable enough to land a big one. The Sandpiper is easy to maneuver in those backwaters while bird watching and small enough to fit on your yacht. It is so easy to paddle you just might want two.

The first thing that struck us about this boat by Eddyline Kayaks was how astonishingly light it is for its size. Together with the long cockpit and wide coaming, it is truly an easy solo carry. The Sandpiper is made from plastic call Carbonlite 2000 and assembled more like a composite boat than plastic and it shared the composite look and feel. The stern keeps it going straight. The width of the boat contributes to its considerable primary stability, which keeps the boat reassuringly flat on smooth water. Our smaller paddlers found the boat “easy to paddle.” Our big paddlers particularly liked the wide plastic seat firmly glued to the bottom. The plastic seat back is comfortably flexible, easy to adjust while underway, and attached to the seat bottom with stainless-steel bolts.

Just took my new Kayak out for the first ride! It performed great and fits my needs perfectly. Also, due to the light weight, I was easily able to load it on and off of my SUV on my own – this was a big concern!

It took 2 years and looking at other kayak to come back to the Sandpiper. When I saw it again at Kittery, I knew it was the one for me.

Thanks for the fine work on our beautiful pair of red Sandpipers. They are ideal for the bayou behind our home here on Sanibel Island, and for the nearby sounds, bays and rivers. We have a Paddleboy bike trailer for one of the kayaks, and when going further, we added 2 Yakima racks to our car. The Sandpipers are perfect for us since they are light enough that one person can lift them — and really easy with 2 people, even if they are not in great shape.

“Into our third season with our Sandpipers. Both my wife and I are delighted with these well-designed, nimble kayaks. We were initially attracted by the light weight(38#), large cockpit, excellent lines and spiffy finish. We paddle regularly with a group using mostly high end touring kayaks, and we have no trouble keeping up with the pack–and we can outmaneuver them any time we poke into narrow estuaries and rivers. I’d suggest the Sandpiper to anyone looking for a highly stable, easily paddled and carried boat. Although we do alot of loon watching, photography, and poking around shores and islands, we’ve been in two foot chops on large lakes. In those circumstances, an Eddyline skirt (about $70) is a very good idea.” “The Eddyline Sandpiper is an underrated kayak…I use this 12 footer mostly in bays, off the coast of Maine…tracks well, manuevers easily…absolutely love this kayak…No complaints whatsoever” ” Purchased the Sandpiper this spring. Great looking kayak with fine lines and low profile in the water. Enjoy the open cockpit and light weight of the kayak. Probably the most attractive kayak on the market for its size and style. On ponds and streams it has tracked well. Fast enough for a kayak of this width. Price is high but the quality is clear to see.” “The Sandpiper is a delightful recreational boat. (My other kayak is a Dagger Baja.) I spend much time on flat slow moving east Texas creeks/rivers. The Sandpiper is ideal for maneuvering in and around the plentiful cypress coves found in this part of the state. The Sandpiper tracks well and cruises nicely for its length. We call it the “party barge” -because of its excellent stability. Also nice for fishing. The sizable cockpit – makes a spray skirt necessary in winter (paddle dripping). Also difficult to edge without the aid of a 2 X 4 across your lap :)”

This is my 2nd season with the Sandpiper. …the word recreational does not describe what an excellent boat the Sandpiper really is. To say it is a recreational kayak is to grossly underrate this boat…I am truly impressed by this little devil!

I bought an Eddyline Sandpiper on Saturday. The Sandpiper is my first sit inside. I purchased this one for a number of reasons. The first being weight, it is half the weight of my Hobie. The width and cockpit opening allowes easy access for my short wide body. I have paddled this twice since I bought it, collectively 5-6 hours. So my experience with it is limited. I liked the way it handled and the ease of movement and manuverability.

This is my 4th recreational kayak and it’s the best! Turns easily for being 12 feet long.

I would like to give you some unsolicited testimony on your kayaks. My wife and I have two Sandpipers. Although I love the Merlin for sheer paddling enjoyment, the Sandpipers were more suitable to our needs; photography, fishing, exploring backwaters and all around stability. We recently completed an 11,000-mile trip towing a 5th wheel with the kayaks on the roof of my pick-up. We paddled in such diverse places as the upper Colorado River, the Rio Grande, Lake Powell, Texas Gulf coastal waters, Atchafaly Swamp and numerous lakes. The kayaks exceeded all our expectations. My wife, who was apprehensive with kayaks having lesser initial stability, has gained considerable confidence with her boat. Before, there would be excuses not to go kayaking. Now, she can´t wait to get on the water.

I took a picture of a Sandpiper into my local dealer to order one. Was I in heaven or what! In January, in comes my Green / white Sandpiper. To say it was LUV at first sight..is little praise. Easy to handle, puts up easy on my Jeep, light weight, comfortable with plenty pf leg room and handles the rivers and streams like a dream. Can you tell, I´m very pleased? I feel like I am in a Cadillac. Easy to store and cleans very well. This is one happy Easterner.
